More Memorial Day NHIS Videos
A couple more quick videos from the Memorial Day PDX event I did with SCCA (NER) at NHIS. It was a great event; very low attendance (just 25 folks had pre-registered), fantastic weather, plenty of instructors, and the BMWCCA curriculum. There were several times where I wondered if I’d somehow missed the checkered flag, since I couldn’t see any other cars! Anyway, onward to the videos.
Fast(ish) lap of 1:34. Is this really fast? No. Did I get carried away with the iMovie effects. Yes.

Very wierd (on MSIE6).
If I “click to play” the video turns into something that looks like a giant text box with vertical scroll (just like this comment entry) – but I can’t type in it.
Right-click / Open in new window or save target works OK though.

That’s because you’re using IE.
I’m actively working on that right now. A standards-compliant browser will work a treat, however!

That little bug should be fixed, now, by the way. The Quicktime plugin will load the entire movie as soon as the page loads, even if you’re not going to view it. I wrote a little bit of JavaScript to replace the image with the Quicktime control when clicked. IE does things differently from other browsers, however, and that’s why it wasn’t working. The default behavior, now, is to just follow the link to the image rather than trying to show it in-line.

Ok, this video alone has convinced me to get off my butt and take some driving instruction. Fantastic!
