The Quicktime plugin will load the entire movie as soon as the page loads, even if you're not going to view it. I wrote a little bit of JavaScript to replace the image with the Quicktime control when clicked. IE does things differently from other browsers, however, and that's why it wasn't working. The default behavior, now, is to just follow the link to the image rather than trying to show it in-line. That little bug should be fixed, now, by the way. If I "click to play" the video turns into something that looks like a giant text box with vertical scroll (just like this comment entry) - but I can't type in it. Right-click / Open in new window or save target works OK though. Very wierd (on MSIE6).
